The ABC’s of copywriting

The aim of copywriting is to deliver a message, the aim of great copywriting is to get people to act on the message you are delivering.

There is an art to writing, so to make sure you get your message across as simply and professionally as possible I’ve put together a few pointers to get you started:

  • Understand the subject you are writing about – do some research if you need toCopywriting ABC
  • Think about what you want to say
  • Create an interesting and unique headline
  • Write about the benefits of how your product/service will help the reader, not just its amazing features
  • Use language that is natural and personal, as if you are talking to someone
  • Don’t write copy that is too long, readers attention span is low and they won’t have time to read reams of text

This bite-sized list should be enough to get you well underway with copywriting, but there is a lot to learn about creating great copy. On the other hand, get a professional copywriter to write it for you!
